32.5.1 Introduction

A Qualified Disabled and Working Individual ( QDWI ) is a person who:

  1. Is entitled to enroll in Medicare Part A. (See 32.2.2 Entitled to Medicare) and

  2. Is not otherwise eligible for MA (including Community Waivers and BadgerCare).  Consider a person with an unmet deductible ineligible for MA until he or she meets the deductible.

32.5.2 Income Limit

The QDWI income limit is 200% of the FPLFederal Poverty Level.  See 39.5 FPL Table.

 

Calculate QDWI net income in the same way as QMBQualified Medicare Beneficiary net income including the temporary disregardAn amount not counted when determining a person's total net income. of the annual COLAcost-of-living adjustment. An increase in income to compensate for inflation. increase.(See 32.2.2 QMB Income Limit).
