PDF (portable document format) files are Adobe Acrobat versions of the complete handbook.  If you wish to print out all or part of the handbook, you would probably want to print the PDF version.  Adobe Acrobat is required to view and print these files.  However, you may also print a policy web page without going to the pdf version.  Both methods are explained below.

Printing from a PDF

Click on the "PDF Versions" link in the Toolbar (found at the top of the handbook) to display links to the current and previous versions of the handbook.  The links will show the release number of the guide.  The current version will always be displayed first.  To find prior policy,  find the pdf version for the effective date and find the subsection within the handbook.

To print all or part of the handbook:

  1. Open the pdf by clicking on it.

  2. Find the page or pages you'd like to print. Acrobat allows you to print all, some, or one page of a document.

  3. To print the whole handbook, click on the printer icon in the acrobat toolbar.  The default setting is to print the whole handbook. The number of printed pages for each document is found in the bottom left corner of a pdf document.  See movie.

  4. To print a range of pages within a pdf document, first find the page numbers you want to print.  When you click on the printer icon in acrobat, change the default setting to "Pages from" and enter the page range.  e.g. from 124 to 128.  Click OK. This will print only pages 124 through 128.  See movie.

  5. To print only the current page, first make sure you are on the page you want printed.  Then click on the printer icon.  Then change the default print setting to " Current page."  Click OK. See movie.

Printing a web page

To print any web page, including a policy page found in any Eligibility Management handbook, follow these instructions:

  1. Right click on the page.  If the page is divided up into sections or frames, make sure you right click on the area you want printed.  For a policy page, right click on the policy itself, and not on the Toolbar or Navigation Pane.

  2. Click on "Print."

  3. A dialog box will come up with your default printer selected.  You can change the printer here if you want.

  4. Choose "OK."

  5. The web page will be printed to the selected printer.  However, it may not be formatted exactly as it appears on the web page.  There may be a page break in the middle of the text.
