1.2.2 New Worker Training Folder
All files used for IM Training are found in the L drive on the DHS network at L:\IM Training. This includes all the Word, PowerPoint, and Captivate files used for training, as well as any other supporting files and documentation.
Finalized training files are then sent to UW Oshkosh/CCDET to be posted in Pathlore, the Learning Management System (LMS) used by DHS IM Training.
All versions of all IM training files must be kept on the DHS L drive in the IM Training Folder.
See a demo here.
New Worker Training files are divided between those for the ESC and those for Income Maintenance workers.
Each module has a folder with "ESC" at the beginning so it is easily differentiated from IM Modules.
Within each module there are several standard subfolders.
There is a "drafts-old" folder within each subfolder. Don't delete any drafts! Save and move all drafts of any type to this folder. The final folder should have a subfolder for every final release. Increase the number or year by one for any subsequent releases. For example, this release below was for 10-01. After the next release is finalized, create a folder in the final folder and call it "ESC AP Mail-in 10-02" if the next release is in 2010.
Also make sure the filename has the full descriptive name for the topic and includes the release number in it.
Also make sure the filename has the full descriptive name for the topic and includes the release number in it.
In the example above, the ESC App Processing Module doesn't contain any quizzes. Many of the modules do. If there are quizzes for a module, add a folder for them.
Training Modules
Training Models in Visio
The training models in Word and Visio are found in this folder. The documents in these folders are updated regularly as the Bureau determines the best worker model for IM, clerical, and ESC staff.
Ongoing Training Edits and Releases
The document that tracks training needs and edits to current training documents is kept here.
Other ongoing training topics are kept in this folder. They are sorted in alphabetical order.
The Training Admin folder contains files pertinent to the administration of training and not specific training modules.
All modules have the same subfolders: Word, PowerPoint (PPT), and Captivate (CP). Save all versions of all files for any edits. Within each of these folders, there are subfolders for drafts and final versions. Make sure each file has a unique filename and save all drafts in the "drafts-old" folder. Make sure files are stored in the appropriate folder. For example, quiz versions in Word, PPT (if any) and Captivate belong in a quiz subfolder.
